"Biology, she wants to go on to study biomedical science." He sounded proud as he talked about his sister and finished off his reports. "She said that it went great, she made a lot of friends, and met a boy."

"Ah.. Yeah, he probably did. If he didn't whilst you were watching him he would of figured it out when I showed up and just walked up to you."

Peyton just nodded subtly as she listened, euebrows furrowing when she came across one detail on the report. "This isn't the same autopsy report they have in the hospital."

She nodded. "I don't want to scare him, he's been through a lot." She told him.

Koby looked over at her. "How so?" He asked.

"He isn't scared of most of them, only ones that look like the one that killed our parents. Only snowy white ones. Darker wolves he is too relaxed around."

"Marks in the neck weren't included in the hospital report. The uh.. Time of estimate death is a whole four hours earlier in this one. This is the original, they rewrote the autopsy report."

He walked over to look at it with her.

She nodded. "Okay, that's understandable." She looked at him. "Tonight is the last full moon for a few weeks, so after tonight he won't have to worry about them for a while at least."

She passed it over to him along with a photo from her bag of the autopsy report the hospital had stored. Moving onto the next document then, reading through witness reports.

"Mm, I'll be out all night tonight. I need to take a few more out, I'm behind on my normal count."

"I'll stay nearby." She told him.

He looked through it, he knew the truth, it was hard not to being what he was, but he didn't want to tell her and worry her.

"You'll stay nearby to the house or nearby to me?" Christopher chuckled as he ate.

"Go on, tell me. I know, I mean, I think I know I just.. People look at me like I'm mental when I say it so need someone else to."

"You, as long as Issac stays by the house he'll be okay."

"It all points to things that shouldn't exist, stuff of legends, I don't think you're crazy."

"Mmm, I don't need a bodyguard, Jen." Christopher whispered, "I've been doing this for years. You should just go and do your own thing, hm? They might not like you, might try and hurt you if they all figure out that your safe with me."

"My father was one, the same kind that got to this girl. He uh..." She grimaced, moving her hand up tp her neck. "I was just a living bloodbag for him."

She looked at him. "The most they will do is attempt to recruit me, but I like being a nomad." She told him. "Christopher, I worry about you, you know that, and anyway, as a wolf I don't really do much." She shrugged.

He took a deep breath. "So you're half?" He asked.

"Mm, misfit." She nodded subtly, "I just.. This poor woman got destroyed by blood drinkers and then wolves got to her too. Imagine it.. The change in all these documents prove that the authourties know. People in this town know, not just people part of the world but humans too."

"Mm." Christopher mumbled unhappily.

"I know you don't like it." She told him. "Look, I won't get in the way."

He nodded slightly, looking to his right arm for some reason before he went back to his reports. "Just out of curiosity, if this was a coverup or something similar, what exactly do you plan on doing?"

Peyton shrugged lightly, brushing her finger along the text of ths witness report. "I haven't thought that far ahead. I - you're going to think of me differently from now on, aren't you?"

"I'm not worried about you getting in the way. What if you get hurt? What if I accidently..." He grimaced, going silent.

"No, I have no right to judge you."

"I'll stay behind you." She promised him, getting up to clean the dishes.

"Your body language changed when you learned what I was, you took a deep breath. I- I haven't even figured myself out yet. Sometimes the sun burns, other times it doesn't, none of it is stable and I don't know any of the rules for myself. I can't work it out."

"I would really rather you just avoided me."

"I know some people who might be able to help you, especially with the case..."

She looked to him. "I just don't want you hurt."

"Mm," She mumbled, distracted. Liftong her gaze to the doorway when in the room that contained the desks pne of Koby's co-workers would of gotten a paper cut. Wrinkling her nose at the smell of the blood.

"And I don't want to accidently hurt you." Christopher mumbled. "Please, you've already done too much. If you want to help me, make sure Isaac doesn't leave tonight."

She nodded. "Okay, leave the door open, I'll shift outside, he doesn't need to see that." She told him. "I'll stay in the house."

"Yeah you're a half," He told her. "I'll take you in the morning okay?"

Christopher nodded subtly in response, "Thanks, I appreciate it."

Peyton nodded subtly to show she had heard him, getting to her feet to pull out another box of papers that were related to the case. "What are you then?"

"Nothing special." He told her.

She nodded, washing and drying the dishes.

"Mm, I'm going to say wolf. Strong wolf though, real strong wolf."

Christopher was quiet then.

"I used to be an alpha, it's why I came here."

Jeni looked at him. "Would you like to watch a movie?" She asked.

"Used to be? What happened?"

"That could be nice." He agreed quietly. "You pick one?"

"Yeah sure, action or comedy?" She asked as she walked into the lounge.
