The Secrets of Llawnech

Rose rested her head against his chest, listening to his heartbeat as she closed her eyes.

He kissed her head.

"Sorry I've been so boring recently..."

"It's alright darling," He told her. "I admit I have missed hanging out with you and people at court have missed seeing you. but we all know you're not ready to come back."

"You can spend as much time as you want with me, I want you here... You dont have to ask for permission."

"I know but sometimes you look like you need some space and I don't want to seem pushy."

"I'll tell you if I don't want you here. If I don't tell you, assume your welcome."

He nodded. "Sounds good."

Rose was quiet then.

He kissed her head.

Rose was soon fast asleep.

He gently brushed a hand through her hair as he lay with her.

A few months later, Alicia was hosting a party, just a normal gathering of the court for all of the dignitaries to meet and relax and have fun, as the sole ruler she was the one who had to host it, but she invited everyone. Alex was invited for Ireland with Natasha as his guest, Jackson was invited from Russia with Emma as his guest and so on and so forth, even Marcus and Rose were asked to join in.

Rose had placed herself near where the kitchen was, so every time a member of staff came out with food she was able to half clear the plate - her appetite having come back with a vengeance over the past few weeks.

Marcus wheeled himself over and he smiled as he watched her. "You know, I don't think food is going out of fashion." He told her playfully. "It's nice to see you eating again."

Alex watched his brother and Rose from a distance, he hadn't introduced himself to the queen yet, he was listening to some of the talks from the other country leaders, some were talking about how nice she was and some were putting bets on how long she would last on her own.

"I have a lot of catching up to do, and this new up and coming chef Alicia got is just so good. Taste this cheese..." She offered it out to him, "I have never tasted anything like it before."

Natasha had left Alex's side, making her way through the crowd in search of Alicia. Hoping to try and grab a couple of minutes alone with her.

Alicia was sat on her throne, she was her usual self, chatty and smiling but behind her eyes she was tired and lonely, she kept occassionally glancing to Leo's empty throne almost in longing.

Marcus smiled softly and he took some of the cheese. "Tastes good."

"Hey, can we..." Natasha hummed in greeting, nodding towards a private room just off to the side. "I won't keep you for long."

"Mm, it is from a goat rather than a cow, apparently. We need to buy a goat."

Alicia looked to her and she nodded. "Yeah sure."

Marcus smiled softly. "You'll have to ask."

Natasha went ahead of her into the room then.

"I'm asking you. I uh.. I still think we should get out of here, whether it is we decide to settle. I want something that is ours."

Alicia followed her, asking the guard that was accompanying her to wait outside.

"But your highness-" The guard tried to argue.

"She's not going to do anything to hurt me." Alicia promised.

He smiled. "Well, we can go travelling when you're ready enough."

"Not yet anyone," Natasha hummed jokingly, grimacing when she regretted it instantly - hoping they both understood it was in jest.

"Yeah, I uh.. about that." Rose whispered, "We've not been proper with the whole, waiting till marriage thing and we have been lucky thus far but over the past week. Well... there is a reason I am so hungry, Marcus."
