"Jackson can come to me, if he has changed his mind so much."

"Would you still like the cheese?"

Rose shook her head in the negative.

"Okay." He kissed her hand. "Shall we at least go and mingle?"

"You can, I'm content here. I don't want to move."

"Okay love." He told her with a soft smile.

Rose was quiet then, just watching everyone.

Soon there were footsteps behind her. "Dear sister." Jackson stood behind her.

Rose glanced over her shoulder at him, answering frostily, "Yes?"

"I do believe I owe you an apology." He told her.

"More than a damn apology. What is it with the men in this family thinking it is acceptable to break me further and think a sorry is going to fix it? I needed you, and all you done was make it worse but then you wouldn't understand, you never loved our mother anyway. From the moment we found out who you were, she tried so hard and not once did you even tell her you loved her, Jackson. Do you know how many of your birthdays I was forced to endure? I- maybe if you would of cared she would of escaped to you instead of doing what she done. Probably not though, I wanted to escape to you and you just made everything worse for me after I told you. The only man in my life who cares for me truly is Marcus, the rest of you are self-centred pigs."

Jackson looked to her. "Don't pretend to know how I felt about our mother." He told her. "You pushed our father away when he tried to make things right, nothing I can do about that." He told her. "I am trying to make amends my sister because right now I am all you've got."

"I-" Rose began before cutting herself off, not bothering to waste her breath. Composing herself and muttering, "Making out like I am a delicate wallflower who needs you is not the way to make amends. I did need you, and you destroyed me. I needed her and she destroyed me. I needed him and he done more then destroy me, he tore out the last shred of my soul. So now I don't need any of you. Marcus and I will be wed as soon as possible, and then we will be living. I am renouncing everything, forgetting you all."

"Even Aunt Alicia?" He asked. "I didn't let you come with me because I know what happened to you there why would I let you come back to somewhere like that at least here you have aunt Alicia."

"I don't! She is a ghost of herself, I can't out anything more on to her. I needed you, like I needed him and neither of you were there." Rose answered, growing frustrated with herself when she heard her own voice crack with tears. Pushing her way through the crowd and out of the room, not getting far before she felt Emma's arms around her which caused her to break down again.

"I know." Emma soothed, "Its going to be like it for a long time, don't be angry at yourself. You've been through far to much for it to be okay and fixed so easily."

Jackson rolled his eyes as he watched her with Emma. "I give up." He muttered to himself as he paid his respects to the queen before he excused himself. From the. Party, taking a tankard of ale with him.
