“I’m not making you out to be anything Cleo. I just want to sleep, please.”

“Have you tried sending her stuff? Cards, flowers? You have to talk when you swap Lux over don’t you?”

Rhys pulled himself up onto the couch, curling up best he could.

“Fine, fine.” Caliban sighed, heading into the sitting room with his children.

"Oh for Christ's sake." Rhys hissed as he dropped the knife he was holding on the floor, attempting to make himself a sandwich, but not able to balance things in his hands and use his crutches very well. "Fucking joke!" he seethed in frustration - the knife joining three others already on the floor.

"She's literally only just forgiven us for running out on her and leaving to get drunk... she's going to fucking flip when she sees this." Serena mumbled lowly as she passed a magazine over to Ronan, the pair of them on the front cover - a mobile picture of Serena crying on Ronan's shoulder had been blown up with a headline alluding to an affair, more snaps of the pair of them looking close on the inside.

“Makes us look bad though...” Serena grimaced. “Hilarious to you, I look awful.”

“No I’m fine... need to be more independent, need to learn how to make myself something so people aren’t running after me, thank you for the offer…”

“You think they’re going to pull something?” Serena frowned deeply then. “What makes you think that?”

“Not everyone can have our kind of money from birth Ronan...”

Rhys stepped back shakily so she could get to the glasses easier.

“I know... you’ve never trusted easily though.” Serena wrinkled her nose, taking the magazine back. “How’s she doing? I’ve not seen her much the last few days...”

“Uh, yeah, yes please.”

“I’m really happy for you guys...” Serena smiled softly, reaching over and gently squeezing his arm. “Glad someone gets their happy ending.”

“Thanks.” Rhys hummed quietly as he shrugged his arm free to take the glass

“I don’t know... are we?” Rhys asked as he looked up at her, giving her a sad smile.

“He was nice... it was... great.” Serena laughed softly. “He doesn’t get much time off, so he wasn’t looking for anything serious either...”

“The uh, the friend you put in my phone, forgot his name... I was with him last night.” Serena confessed quietly as she picked up her drink, taking a sip to hide her cheeks burning.

“Neither did I... I just… neither did I.”

“I’m pretty sure he called me Selena at one point so I don’t feel too bad about it.” Serena laughed then. “He was ... sweet. I had a good night. Almost too sweet though you know? Like I know he’d probably overthink it if I went back. When those flowers showed up this morning from you to Bella I had a mini heart attack thinking he’d ordered them... like he gave off those kind of vibes that he’d do that after one night so yeah... it was fun but I’m not going there again, just in case, I don’t want anything else right now.”
