Hope Falls

Eventually, Florence had pushed her phone to the side. Giving up with whatever she was doing and staring at the floor with a frown instead - though her drinks began to go down faster then.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Zero asked as he leant against the bar next to her. "Usually people come to my bar upset and leave laughing, but you do not seem to be going that way."

"Family were supposed to meet me here, that's all. They were held up with traffic to start but now they've just cancelled completely so..." Florence shrugged. "It happens."

Zero nodded. "Ah family dilemma, I wish mine would cancel her plans." He nodded to Scarlet who was still dancing on the table obviously enjoying herself. "You know, if you would rather have someone to talk to and keep you from boredom, I don't mind being the one you talk to."

"Mm." Florence mumbled.

Zero smiled softly. "Another drink?" He nodded to her empty glass.

"Yeah, please...."

"What do you fancy?"

"Just the same again..."

He nodded and he made her a drink.

She quietly turned her gaze to watch everyone else in the bar silently.

He placed the drink beside her, going back to watching the attendees of the bar, particularly when the band played a new song that had everyone getting up to dance.

Florence leant back in her seat, moving her gaze to watch the floor instead.

"Do you not dance?"

"I do, not.. not today though. I'm not in the mood for..." Florence motioned towards the crowd of laughing people. "I'm on a downer."

Zero nodded in understanding. "Fair enough,"

"Mhm."

"Don't you dance love?" A man asked as he slunked over to Florence.

"Leave the woman be Will." Zero warned, but the man ignored him.

"Do I look like I am dancing?" Florence snorted with a roll of her eyes. "Jog on."

"Don't be like that," He continued.

"You heard the lady Will, leave."

"Goodbye now," Florence hummed softly, her green eyes flickering to a deep red colour often associated with compulsion as she locked eye contact with Will. "And please do let the door hit you on your way out."

Will walked away and Zero almost laughed. "Good job,"

"Dealing with men that don't know how to listen is a talent of mine." She chuckled.

He smiled slightly. "Well, at least I don't need to use my bat to send him away, makes an aweful mess of the bar top." He told her playfully.
