Magnus sat himself up as he blinked his eyes and glanced around the room to make sure he were out of the vision properly. Keeping one of his arms around Thea's waist as he lifted his other hand to rub his eyes; "That doesn't have to mean anything...."

"I'm just playing," Karina laughed softly, resting her head against his shoulder as she let her eyes close with a content sigh.

Florence took in a deep breath, shifting her weight from one foot to the other just outside of Sarika and Draven's door. Having been stood in that spot for five minutes, before finally working up the courage to tap her knuckles and knock on the door.

“What did you see? What part did you come in at?” Thea whispered breathlessly, moving his hand to rub against her chest, to try and soothe her heart.

“Seer.” Draven raised an eyebrow in question as he opened the door, glaring down at Florence.

“You did so well my love. I’m so - I’ll never not be proud of you.”

"If I've seen something, and it is relevant to you all then what will be my reward for telling you?" Florence asked, trying to appear stern faced and return his glare though she didn't look as intimidating as she tried to be.

"I was holding a baby in blankets, it was snowing. It- that doesn't mean anything, T. It could be any baby, don't feel pressured."

"We're a proper family now. I didn't think I could ever allow myself anything like this."

“It was ours, you took it from my arms - or I gave it to you. Hard to tell. I just felt the exhaustion… you were so happy…” Thea moved to brush her hand against his face gently. “Promise me that… that I stay me, and you stay you and we - we stay us? And that - if that was our daughter, they don’t get her, ever… promise me, Magnus?” She whispered, almost pleading with him.

“We were always a family… but we’ve expanded now,” Emmett laughed softly, nuzzling his nose against her hair. “Thank you… for doing this, for bringing them here…”

"You will be sat in Magnus' Castle with him, Isolde will be there too. The mood was foreboding - everyone in that room will be there as a collective." Florence mumbled, wrinkling her nose as she pick and choose what to say. "What would my reward be for that?"

"We'll stay us, of course we will and they would have to kill me before I let them get anywhere near her." Magnus assured, closing his eyes at her touch.

"That's a silly thing to thank me for."

"You'll be an incredible mother," Magnus grinned then, leaning in to kiss the crook of her neck. "You are incredible at everything you do, so it'd only be natural."

"Promise me you won't be performing any heroics for a while," Karina whispered, closing her eyes. "I know it's your job to be the hero, but I don't want to raise them without you."

Karina moved the baby so she could lean him against Emmett's chest and support him with one arm, freeing up her other to lazily reach up and brushing her fingers across the scars on his face. "I'm so glad you are here."

""This grows more and more tedious every time we are called in for one of those ridiculous things." A tall man with dull brown hair and glimmering blue eyes complained as he leant across a bar counter to pull out a bottle of whisky and pour himself a serving on the rocks, briefly glancing across to his fellows with a raised eyebrow in offering. "The same people are always late to arrive and that means the things we want to do in our real lives have to be put on hold."

"I see you are complaining again, Dušan." Laoise spoke meekly she stepped into the room and almost floated towards her seat with how gentle her footsteps were. Icy blonde, which framed a freckled pale face, tumbled over her shoulders - as flowy as the white and gold dress she adorned.

"I see you are late again." He countered.

“I genuinely believe your vision is faulty, Seer. Or that it has been planted into your mind by someone.”

Thea nodded silently, taking a deep breath to try and steady herself and her heart, closing her eyes and concentrating on inhaling his scent.

“I’m really glad you’re here too, my love. So grateful for you… all of you…”

“Maybe we should start imposing a penalty on those that don’t show up on time… among other transgressions.” Hendrix murmured from his seat around the table, impatiently tapping his fingers against the wood with a sigh that blew some of his hair out of his eyes. “Dressing like that for a meeting, for example. Fucking ridiculous.” He added through his teeth with an air of annoyance when Andrea finally walked in.

Andrea’s natural curls were tousled, having looked worse a moment ago but she’d raked her tattooed fingers through them, her attire and makeup screaming of ‘the night before’ - though with Andrea it was never possible to tell if it was indeed from the night before or otherwise. “Oh am I hurting your delicate sensibilities, Bhaltair?” She drawled with a smirk as she took her seat, completely amused by the annoyance related to her lateness.

"You should sleep, it's been - its been a lot to handle." Magnus whispered, smoothing his fingers through her hair.

"Now now, are we being misogynistic again Hendrix?" Laoise scoffed in disgust, teeth showing with the size of her grin as she reached out towards Andrea. "You look absolutely fabulous, buttercup."

"Would anyone like some whisky? Or... whatever bullshit drinks we have here that I haven't already gone through." Dušan intruppted after downing his glass and pouring himself another.

“Ah but that’s where you’re wrong isn’t it? I’m not your fellow council member, I’m a proxy. And you, Bhaltair, are one who keeps voting for it to stay that way so… if you want me subjected to your rules then let me join the club. I’m dying to redecorate Cain’s chambers anyway.” Andrea snorted, before turning to look at Dušan and back. “Funny how he’s allowed to get drunk fifteen minutes into meetings but I can’t be fifteen minutes late, no?”

Laosie shook her head, "If moaning about being late is such a big deal maybe we should get to business. The uh, the people are calling for us to make it known who our Seers are. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea. It puts a target on their heads."

Why are you allowing such dissent in your own coven?” Hendrix shook his head at Laosie, eyebrows furrowing as his lips curled in disgust at Andrea and Dušan. “Tell them the only reason our Seers have been untouched in comparison to the others is because we have kept them so guarded.”

“You’re asking and I’m saying no. Learn from this, you don’t get to ask anything.”

“Don’t downplay your hurt… you’re allowed to say you experienced it.”

“You are happy aren’t you?” Thea asked, eyes closing as she moved her hand to take his.

"Nothing of the sort, if I wanted to that then I would treat you to a bundle of strawberries freshly picked from the farmers field and fifty year old sparkling champagne. Dipping chocolate, and a beautiful sunset included." He purred against Andrea's ear before adding to the group. "My comrades have... began to gossip. Viciously so... the topic comes from me today. They are doubting, with the rumoured shortage of Seers, that we even have any and that makes them insecure. It intrupts my relaxing time."

"It is because we have all remained so neutral." Laosie countered to Hendrix gently. "We have remains safe this way, yes, but.. if it is effecting our own people then maybe we need to reconsider."

“Do not belittle the horrors you went through.” Emmett shook his head, kissing her cheek. “No more talk of it.”

Draven snapped then, fangs extending, eyes darkening and his nails transforming into claws all within a split second - snarling as he grabbed Florence roughly by the shoulders and slammed her hard against the wall, claws squeezing in as he lost control. “What do you know about my son, Seer?! How dare you withhold it from me!” He roared.

“I never did want children, no, you are right in that. I had accepted you did and maybe one day I would be watching as you had them with a mistress. You know that. Because I just couldn’t risk that we would have a daughter and she would inherit from me, that she would become a slave to the Guardians and have her life taken from her, her choices. Risk her being taken somewhere like with the Wolves or the Fae where she wouldn’t be treated as I was by you … But we - we took every precaution there is to take, every single one. From our world, the human world… and yet I’m still here with our child in me… and as much as my initial instincts were to, to make this go away… that vision did change everything Magnus… it was a vision. And visions tell me things, and this one told me that this is what’s supposed to happen - and I felt okay with it. Watching you by the fire with your child - our child… I think in that moment I was happier than even you, I could feel it, the burning in my chest because of so much emotion…”

“One day I’ll be calling on you to deliver on all these promises.” Andrea whispered, turning her head ever so slightly so her nose would brush against Dušan’s jaw before she turned her attention back to the meeting at hand, staying silent in effort to concentrate.

“This is ridiculous. What on earth would make them think we were lying to them about the Seer’s? They can come here and witness them themselves if they so wish, just because their faces are concealed doesn’t mean they are decoys.”

Dušan gave Laoise a pointed look, still not taking his seat and remaining lurking over Andrea. "My people have also been... cautious, and not immune to gossip. I propose we reveal the true identity of one Seer from each community to quell any-"

"No. Absolutely not." Laosie shook her head. "Seers fit in with us all, it means they are safe - if we put their names out there when the other communities decide to come after us then they'll be the first targets."

“I say we ask them.” Andrea contributed with a snort, taking a sip of her drink and leaning her head back briefly into Dušan’s shoulder as the other council members began loud discussion between themseleves. “They’re not infants, they’re fully grown, powerful women who serve us without complaint. I say they get a say in whether or not they’re exposed for the sake of quelling tensions.”

“Or you all get a grip, return back to your covens and tell them that if they don’t trust the council they’re free to leave the country - as if we don’t know that some have already left to go offer their services to others. One of the Stark twins is rumoured to be working with the Adairs for a hefty sum, so also make it known if they’re leaving to other kingdoms to offer their services for money then the law of execution for treason still stands when they get back!”

“I have seen Kings without heirs rise and fall quicker than the sun, Magnus… I would never have seen it as a betrayal if it was something you needed to do to ensure your survival, I wouldn’t allow you to lose everything - especially the faith of your people, over a choice I made.”

“Andrea I see you, I always see you - and if you are manipulating him in any - “ Hendrix hissed then, getting even annoyed by the second, tensing at Andrea’s returning smirk.

“Why I think that’s an insult to Dušan’s power that you think as a card carrying council member and the strongest in his coven and one of the strongest around this table that he could be manipulated so easily by someone not on his level… I wouldn’t stand for that, Dušan. My cousin is calling you weak.”

“It isn’t to do with your powers as a Witch it’s to do with the game of seduction you have been playing for years with any man who doesn’t bend to your will! Nobody is blind!”

“You hear that Laosie? Simply being good looking and in a man’s eyesight is seduction these days… we really do have it easy if they’re so feeble minded now don’t we? Dušan frowned, peeling himself away from Andrea then and returning to the counter to collect another drink before, finally, sitting down at his own seat. "What is the best way for this to finish faster? What must I say?"

“It is idle that you only ever vote the way of the majority just to close the vote.” Hendrix sighed as he moved to pinch the bridge of his nose between his fingers. “Why can’t you actually discuss things for once instead of making it clear how much you don’t give a shit? We get it, you’d rather not be here, you’d rather be back in your county in that premises you call a bar. You’re not, you’ve got the responsibility to be here.”

“That’s what my gut is telling me, yes.” Thea nodded. “Unless she’s messing with my abilities and then she may be a he.” She added with a small laugh. “Sounds very much like your child though… not even the size of a thumbnail and yet already causing problems if that is the case. Already her fathers daughter.”

“Definitely shouldn’t be thinking about that.” Emmett laughed softly.

“They can’t interfere with the governance of the countries. They wouldn’t touch Sarika so you know that is an empty threat. I will have a sorceress tear open your fucking mind until you’re drooling if you do not give me what I am asking for, Oracle or not I do not care and neither do the Guardian’s. Nor does the Fae you loved, the Fallen you rescued, the Loyal you so adored. Nobody cares about you Florence and nobody is coming to rescue you!”
