He didn't have to ask again and she didn't think about what might happen as she leaned down to kiss him with so much love it was truly heartbreaking. "I'm not sorry. You're the love of my life." Since she was kissing she had to respond to him in her head now

He kissed her back, a hand moving into her hair, however that was where things went wrong and his heart once again flatlined, but this time his whole body just stopped, the hand in her hair fell from her, hitting the bed as it went limp, if she pulled away she would have already noticed that his lips were blue.

She pet everything into that kiss until she felt the shift of everything and that's when she lost it.

He had managed to keep his eyes open until the end but now they had lost his colour. As nurses and doctors tried to save him, the scientist moved her away. "You can't do anything for him now, just let them try." She told her.

She pulled away from her to stay near Peter as she had promised him, taking his hand again. There wasn't anyway that she could be away from him.

The nurses and doctors suddenly decided to stop trying to resuscitate Peter and his father hit his fist against the wall. “Try again, he’s my biggest asset if we lose him it’s all for nothing I’ll be bankrupt.” He demanded.

“You expected too much of him.”

"Asset?! Is that all you care about! You're damn money?! He's a person! I love him and for the first time ever he was happy and you took that away! What is the matter with you?!" She cried, shoving everyone away from and laying against him as best she could so she could hug Peter.

“I don’t care what you feel for him he’s no better than gutter trash he was a mistake so at least like this he can make himself useful.” His father told her before he turned on the doctors. “Try it again.” He demanded.

"Don't touch him!" she screamed at them, literally shaking from angry and sadness.

“I am your boss you do as I say not some jumped up little tart.” His father sneered and the scientists and doctors looked to Denise with a look of sorrow before they tried to resuscitate Peter again

"You're not helping him! You're only hurting him even more each time you do!" She didn't understand why they didn't see how badly they were hurting him and in her fear that he really wouldn't come back to her, she wasn't sure if it was her doing or Peter's doing somehow or someone else's entirely but the start of what looked to be some kind of force field formed around Peter's bed.

“Will you get her out of here!” Peters father demanded, he didn’t want to deal with her anymore and he motioned for one of the guards to take Denise out of the room he hadn’t noticed the force field yet

She narrowed her eyes at them, backing herself against Peter's bed so that she was inside the force field as well and she took his hand. "Just give him some damn time!"

His father narrowed his eyes at her. "She won't be able to keep this little forcefield up forever, and when it drops get her out of my building, throw her in a ditch if needs be."

She narrowed her eyes back at him. "Don't even think about it."

"Trust me princess, I just have to wait you out, he can't protect you here." He nodded to Peter's body.

At this she blinked, the words settling in. If Peter wasn't the one protecting them right now.. who was? Was she doing this somehow? "Don't call me, Princess, I'm nothing to you. He's only here because of me "

"So you're feeling a bit guilty, that's a boring human emotion don't you think." He told her as he made a chair appear and he sat back in it, the fact that he was using powers made it seem that Peter had gotten his original gifts from his father.

"Guilty? Not at all. That should be you. The emotions I'm feeling right now don't even need a name."

He smirked slightly. "When did you plan on telling him that you had a power?" He asked out of curiosity, nodding to the shield. "Then again that would explain why your bond is so strong." He mused as his hand rested against the shield. "I knew you would be a fascinating subject."

"I didn't know," she admitted truthfully. Her eyes watched him and she shifted slightly in front of Peter as she subconsciously tried to strengthen the shied, though she had no idea how it even worked. "Subject?" Denise scuffed. "You were just about ready to kick me to the curb and now you're interested in me?"

"I've been interested in you for a long time." His father told her. "Someone who claims to have no power to bring him," He nodded to Peter, "To his knees without a word is worth taking interest in." He told her. "I thought he was the most powerful weapon in the world, made by my creation, and yet he failed every task because you were in his head."

"I'm in his head because I'm here. And I'm here because you can't be trusted. He knew you weren't going to let him come home to me.. he knew you'd kill him. If you want me, then we need to agree on a lot of things." She knew what she was doing and she knew that Peter was going to freak out when he found out.

He smirked slightly. "Well then, what agreements did you have in mind?"

"Peter's mine. Let's get that straight right now. Him and I, we don't get separated unless we agree to it. Whatever is going to be done we get told about, that goes for him and I. And quit killing him! You don't understand it, do you? It's the two of us.. we need each other, we help each other." They were bonded, connected and she couldn't lose that.
