Creatures of the Dark

She looked to the clock on the wall behind him. "About twelve minutes." She told him.

Belle looked around the house for him and she knocked on the door to his study. "Everything okay?" She askedafter a few minutes.
______

The guards took Alessia to the healers to be checked over.

Whilst the guards were tending to his wife, Damian was being put in his place by his father. Thorin learnt a long time ago that Damian's demon wasn't like his own, there was so much rage with him, it was almost terrifying, but Thorin always knew it was a product of what happened to him. Each time the demon went for him, even in his human form, Thorin could counteract him. "Fight back Damian, he might be you but you're still the one in charge," Thorin encouraged. "I know you didn't want him to hurt Alessia,if you did she would be dead by now."

"That's.. better for you, I suppose." Caspian mumbled.

"Everything is fine," Elliott confirmed, lifting his gaze up to the doorway to look at her. "I didn't expect you home yet."

Seren remained out of the way, quietly observing.

She shrugged. “Yeah I planned to stay out longer but the baby has other ideas.” She told him with a soft smile. “What were you planning?” She nodded to the knife.

Eris smiled softly. “I’m trying.” She promised. “Anyway how are you?”

Damian eventually pinned Thorin to the wall just like he had Alessia. “What’s the matter father, getting weak in your old age?” He sneered.

“No, just needed an opening.” He suddenly jammed something into Damian’s chest that caused him to drop Thorin and fall to his knees.

"Remember who you get your strength from, dove. You can't out do the master." Seren hummed in amusment to her son.

"I-" Elliott grimaced. "Nothing you would like to hear about."

"I am fine,"

Belle walked over to him and she took a seat next to him. "Tell me." She told him

She nodded. "Good, what would you like to drink?" She asked as she ot her purse out to pay. "You paid last time so this one is on me." She assured him.

Damian looked up at his father as whatever he had stabbed him with took effect and despite the pain it caused Damian the demon was locked back up until Damian was on his hands and knees on the floor, coughing out blood and in obvious pain.

Seren crossed the space then to kneel beside her son, wrapping arms around his torso and whispering, "Everyone is keeping the healer very busy today. Come on, up you get."

"I am just trying to get rid of it, that's all."

"Water is fine, I'm dehydrated."

"Why does my head feel like it's ina vice?"Damian asked.

She nodded and she went up to the till to get him a drink.
______

Belle nodded, gently running her finger over the mark.

"Your demon is being a bit of a controlling arsehole, they go through phase of it when you've been on survival mode for so long." Seren whispered, brushing fingertips through her sons hair. "Your wife done a marvelous job of pressing all of his buttons, which made him angrier, as she does."

"I've not tried cutting it off yet..."

Caspian watched her quietly.

"What the fuck did I do?" Damian asked. "Alessia, is she okay?"

She came back with his drink and she took her seat again.

She nodded. "Okay, be careful." She told him. "But at least let me get he first aid kit." She suggested.

"Thanks," He hummed, taking it from her.

"Your letting me do it?"

"She's with a healer, and she isn't dead. Not in the vampire way, anyway. If she were human, she would have been." She grimaced. "'Don't worry."

"How the hell can I not worry?" He asked. "I could have killed my wife." He got himself to his feet.

"Not like I could stop you." She told him. "But I have the same reservations about it as you do." She reminded him.
______

She smiled softly. "You're welcome."

"I mean, technically you did. Her heart wasn't beating by the time I got her to the guards." Seren grimaced.

"I don't have reservations. I - I don't want you to watch."

Caspian was quiet then.

She nodded. "Okay, I won't be here." She promised. "I'm going to go and start dinner, just let me know when you need the first aid kit." She told him.

Eris was also quiet.

"Seren darling, not helping." Thorin advised, he watched as Damian had himself disappear leaving the room.

"Best he knows the facts," Seren grimaced. "We don't know how she'll be when she wakes up. He needs to know the reasons why she is... however she'll be."

"I'll be fine to sort it all myself, don't worry."

"Are you sure?" She asked, moving to stand.

Thorin nodded. "Something tells me there is going to be something going on."

"Something? What?"

He nodded. "You weren't meant to be home yet."

"I think this might break them this time." Thorin told her. "And if it does, I don't want to be there for the fall out with Damian."

Belle nodded. "Good point." She told him, and she kissed his cheek gently. "Just do it carefully."

"We have no choice, it's our job to be there for him. Where else would we be?"

He nodded.

Belle smiled softly and she left him alone, putting the first aid kit outside of his office for when he needed it.

"Preferably not watching our son do everything in his ability to killhimself."

"You abandon him when you need us if you want but I won't be."

"I will be there for our son, like you are, but surely you remember last time they broke up and what it did to him." Thorin told her.

Belle set about making their dinner, and as she waited, she sat herself on the sofa, gently resting a hand on her stomach.

"I do, it has nothing to do with whether we are there or not though."

It took several hours, well after night had fallen, before Alessia's eyes blinked open.

Damian had locked himself in his throne room, he was sat on his throne he looked deep int bought
