“Once they give us the clear then we will see him.” Damian promised. “I’m not getting smacked by Clarissa for being in her way.”

Rose started to pace picking her nails as she did.

Meanwhile the queen had found her son and she had her guards take him to his room and she took Rose’s dagger with her keeping it hidden as she nursed her son into waking up. “You’re safe my darling.”

Azriel jerked awake, digging his nails into the mattress of the bed as his nostrils flared with his gasped breath.

"They better hurry up."

“It’s okay darling you’re safe.” She promised resting a hand on his chest.

He slid an arm around her. “They will try not to worry my darling she got him here in time.” He promised

Alessia shook her head, staring at the door. "One of us needs to get his fiancé and son."

Azriel lifted his hand up to grip her wrist. "What - what happened?"

“You go,” Damian suggested. “You seem to have a very strong rapour with her.”

She explained what happened to Rose and her brother. “The healers are working on your father.”

"Oh, hopefully he'll be okay." Azriel mumbled, monotone, his heart clearly not in it.

"Look after him.  I mean it, no making this worse." Alessia warned quietly before turning on her heal and walking away. Knocking on Sabrina's door half an hour later.

"You may go in," The healer told Damian and Rose half an hour later, stepping out of the room so they could go in.

“Azriel I want you to do something for me.” His mother told him. “I want you to go and join Rose.”

Damian and Rose nodded and Rose ran into the room when she had permission. “Hey Zi, how are you feeling?”

Sabrina opened the door and she looked confused. “Alessia?” She asked, gently resting a hand on her pregnant stomach. “What can I do for you? Aeron isn’t here right now he’s at work.”

"He isn't, he is being looked after in his fathers home. He is hurt, you and Baelfire should come with me. He wasn't.. well... when his sisters brought him to us."

Zion blonked bleary eyes open, though only for half a second before they were closed once again. Mumbling a disorientated, "Mm?"

"No.... no."

“Azriel listen to me, I’ve been in talks with her father in secret he is going to harbour you and keep you away from your father to keep you safe, please son stop being so stubborn for one minute and listen to me.”

“I’m glad you’re okay…can I hug you?” Rose asked

Sabrina had a triad of emotions flashing across her face mainly worry and fear but she pushed them down. “Okay…um…Bael could you get down here please?”

They could hear Baelfire running from his room.

"I won't leave you here with him."

"No," Zion mumbled. "No, everything hurts."

"Try ot to worry." Alessia whispered, despite her own concern. "They all adore him, and are good with looking after souls."

Sabrina nodded and she helped Bael with his shoes making sure he was ready.

Gently ran a hand through his hair

M”Azriel i will be okay.” She put it

"No, no." He mumbled, sitting himself up. Fingers raking through his hair, "I'm not going anywhere, no. I'm not running away."

Alessia stepped inside, offering Baelfire her hand quietly. "Hi little man."

Zion closed his eyes at the touch.

"He has lost a lot of blood," Clarissa informed the royals quietly. "The metal used was laced with poison, so the wound is already infected. Already ravaging his body. The others are making antidotes, things we know, but... we just need to hope we find the cure on time. The good news is that it has stopped bleeding."

“Is it the same thing as was used on me?” Damian asked her.

Rose looked between them, before she sat herself on the edge of her brothers bed.

“You are going to Damian whether you like it or not.” She told him. “That is my order as queen and you have to obey.” She told him. “You are going to Rose and you two will live your lives together in peace and when the time is right you will take on your father.”

Baelfire smiled. “Hi nanna….what’s going on?”

“Baelfire we need to go and see your father.” Sabrina explained.

"You get to come and see where your father grew up," Alessia hummed warmly. "It'll be different for you, but exciting."

"'We hope not, but it's possible."

"I am not leaving you here. No. If I am going then so are you."

Damian nodded. “I will help you find a cure, Alessia found one for me surely we can recreate it?”

Baelfire nodded he looked excited but nervous

“I will join you when I can but for now you must be alone.”

"Are you ready?" She asked quietly, glancing across to Sabrina.

"He is injured, you can go now. Easily. He couldn't stop you."

"If that is even what is wrong." She whispered, placing a damp cloth into Damian's hand when Zion became restless. "Allow me to do my job. The only job you should be focused on right now, Your Highness, is being a father to your boy."

Damian nodded and he handed the cloth to Rose as she was closer and he took his seat beside his son as Rose sponges his head

Sabrina nodded taking her sons hand tightly

Alessia closed her eyes and let out a breath, the three of them being in her home when she opened her eyes once again. "Welcome to hell."

Baelfire looked around and he was almost vibrating with excitement.

Sabrina looked around.

“Stop being stubborn,” his mother suddenly argued.

Azriel recoiled at her tone, expecting physical violence to come after it. Creating distance between them as he argued meekly, "I'm not."

"I am happy to look after your son, if you go down this corridor and go left then you will find the healing rooms. Zio - Aeron is in there."

“My darling a mothers job is to protect her child.” She explained after a soft sigh. “I am doing this to protect you, you have to trust me.”

Sabrina nodded clearly nervous. “Okay.” She looked to Baelfire. “Be good, okay?”

Baelfire nodded

Alessia offered Baelfire her hand. "Come, let's go and explore."

"I can't..."

He took her hand.
