"He hasn't forgiven me for a single thing, Rose. Not one thing."

She sighed. “The demon side or the human side?”

"Demon. I - I've given it a week, a week for he and I to really... try."

She nodded. “And what happens after that week?”

"After that week, if no progress has been made then... then I think it is the end of the line. I can't do it for much longer, and it isn't fair on him either."

She nodded. “Okay.”

Alessia was quiet then, watching the floor.

Rose was also quiet but she watched her mother. “Would you like some breakfast on the veranda with me?”

"I - yes. Yes please." She swallowed. "I would love that."

She smiled and she took her arm walking with her to the veranda where maids were serving breakfast for them.

"Breakfast already made? You were planning this?"

“Well I was planning breakfast.” She told her. “I’m starving.”

"For you, yes. This is for more than just you though."

“Well when you agreed I may have sent a quick mental note to the servants.”

""Ah. Right."

She smiled softly moving to take her seat as the maid poured her a cup of tea.

Alessia silently sat too.

“Mum are you okay?”

"Fine, petal." She whispered, as she always did whether she was or not.

Rose looked to her she didn’t believe her in the slightest. “Did you see the fire lillies that I planted?”

"I did, they have grown beautifully."

She smiled. “Thank you.”

"No need for thanks."

She smiled. “I met with father’s advisor this morning and believe me it was not by choice…they have started to look for a love match for me…” She told her, she did not sound happy about it. “I haven’t told anyone not even Azriel.”
