Lily rested her head against his chest as she began to sob, trembling as she moved her hand to cover her face.

“No… no you weren’t.” Isolde replied tiredly, curled up under her covers. “What happened?”

"Aoife and Lily will be focusing all their energy on finding a cure for you, from this moment. They won't allow anyone to disturb them." Aodhän remove his shoes, unbuttoned his shirt and shrugged it off of his shoulders before finding his place beneath the covers beside her. Draping an arm around her waist, and pressing his lips to her shoulder.

"I will do everything I can to keep you safe, flower." Rohan breathed, tightening an arm around her body. Free hand of the other finding it's way into her hair.

Lily shook her head, wiping at her face as she leaned up on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his, hands beginning to search his chest to start undressing him.

“Who knows now?”

"You aren't in your right mind at the moment," Ruhan breathed between returned kisses, "We shouldn't, Lily."

"The two of them, Rohan Razi." Aodhän swallowed. "His and his brothers notes saved Hawk. It is a wild card, but..."

“Who will tell Indira who will surely tell Kael… you cannot have trusted him?”

“I’m going to die… Right now is the perfect time.” Lily moved her hands to his face, pulling him closer. “My mind is clear, there’s nothing else to think about. No repercussions for it all when you are dead mm?”

"He saved Hawk, he might be able to save you." Aodhän's hand trembled as it moved to smooth her arm with a featherlight touch. "I love you."

Rohan swallowed, leaning back from her then. "You - you are not going to die. So I will not risk you becoming with child in your panic, you will hate yourself for it if it happens. Have you tried recreating the disease before? It is merely bark isn't it and you can make transulecent plants. If you learn how to create it, then you will know how to take it apart again. If you learn how to create it, we can infect Lord Mehan with it and my brother will be able to watch his son grow."

“You are just as stupid as Aodhän if you think this can suddenly be cured…” Lily shook her head, pulling away from him. “Thank you for your words against Aodhän to defend me. But I think you should go…”

“Willing to try anything aren’t you?” Isolde curled into his side, closing her eyes.

"We try, and if we have made no progress by the time I am meant to go home then you will be coming on the boat with me. You are not going to be executed because of Aodhän's heartbreak." Rohan took a step backwards. "I want to weaponise it to keep my family safe. Now I wish to cure it too, to keep you in your home. The answer may be one in the same."

"I can't lose you." Aodhän whispered; resting his head on top of hers as he closed his eyes.

“This - this was never about me was it? All of this was you trying to get close to us to see if we could weaponise something for your family. And now you’re worried I’ll die with the information you think I have.” Lily scoffed, taking a further step from him.

“I admire the determination.”

"The reason I came here was nothing to do with tge wasting, it was try to get my sisters home, my family back together. It is different now though, things changed. I've been able to watch how happy they are, I have gotten to know you. Ishaan is going to die though, Lily. He is going to be killed, Kiaan and I need to do something we need to save him... Kiaan has a plan but it has risks. The risks for biological warfare are so reduced, Mehan's followers would have no idea it was an attack at all. It would look so natural. If we manage this everyone wins, if we don't... you still win. I won't let you die, I mean that."

“You aren’t listening to me, and I have no further use for this conversation. May days may be limited, I’m not debating this any longer. The Wasting cannot be cured. It is as cut and dry and that. It cannot. I cannot do what Aodhän is asking of me. So I will die. "I have been here with Nerissa, I was here with Kael... I have been here with almost everyone I have ever loved." Aodhän swallowed.

Rohan shook his head, backing up another step as he anticipated her to change her mind. Turning on his heel, finally, and making his exit.

“I have had such a long life and yet it feels like nothing… nothing with you. With our daughters…”

"I am not ready to lose you."

“I’m not ready to go.” Isolde nodded with a sad laugh, voice cracking.

"I'm going to speak to the ancestors, they - I am going to demand answers for this. Reasons and.. I am going to convince them to change their minds. Like they must have done for Kael. You didn't work all your life for this - this to be the end."
