He kissed her back just as deeply 

“I’m scared too.” He whispered. “I’m scared that I’m still stuck in that hell and that I won’t ever remember you.”

"You don't have to remember me, we can make new memories, if we have to." Alessia whispered, pushing herself up from the mattress to perch on the bed beside him. "We were friends, first and foremost. We can start there again. This - that hell. What was it? Do you want to talk about it?"

“If you would like to talk about it.” He told her

"It's yours to talk about, I'm here. I'll listen."

“There’s not much to tell, I watched my wife’s death over and over and then I watched yours.” He told her.

"Mine? I don't understand."

“I watched you die numerous ways each more gruesome than the last.”

"Oh." Alessia grimaced, slowly lowering herself down to lay on her side. So close their noses were touching, "Well.. I'm here. It's okay."

She kept the kiss for as long as he did.

“Now you’ve explained who you are it all makes sense.” He told her, his eyes never leaving hers

He matched his kiss to hers

"I'm so sorry I didn't get to you in time to stop it."

“It’s okay I doubt there was anything extra that you could do.”

"The others said it was... your past catching up on you. I think that's bullshit. That was all meant to come to an end when I killed her, it wasn't supposed to keep happening."

"I thought they had forgotten about me." He told her. "She was meant to sell me off the other day, but she went back on the deal, I don't know why."

"I don't know. I don't know. You need to get some sleep, sweetheart."

"so do you." He told her.
