“That’s because I learnt to hide them but that was the only emotion I had that was intense.”

"You learnt to hide them, or that is the only one you had?" She questioned quietly. "Be clear, casanova."

“Both really, until you I didn’t really feel emotions, when I became king emotions were irrelevant so I learnt to hide them, but then I met you and suddenly I could feel all of these things that I’ve never felt before,” he told her. “I felt warmth, happiness, love…things only amplified when you told me you were pregnant and then why you died during Damian’s birth I felt my heart shatter all of those emotions just turned into rage and pain.”

"Speaking of our son, his little soul piece has sung your praises for what you have done. She's cursed you for making her see good in you. It's been very sweet."

“Yeah I eve got a hug from her earlier.” He smiled softly. “I wonder when he is going to propose.”

"Questions like that and people will think you are coming around to her too."

He laughed softly. “Maybe I did.”

"You did? Past tense. What has made you change your mind about her?"

“Funnily enough, Rose.”

"You disliked her when she was carrying the babe, and the first few months she had her up until you passed. I don't understand what changed." She frowned.

“Neither do I really, I mean I didn’t know the little one until she was nearly a year old.”

"And how dies the child effect how you feel about the mother? What is the real reason Thorin?"

“I saw how happy she made Damian, I don’t agree with how she treats him a lot of the time and I still don’t but since Rose he’s complete, wouldn’t you think?”

Most of her time was spent with the pack, that was how it went now. Focusing all her time and energy on the pack, making sure they all had what they needed, that they were all alright, that they were all.. a family. It kept her from thinking about much else and it kept her grounded. Sophia didn't take much time to herself anymore but when she did, she could be found lounging about near a body of water or running through the forest, which was exactly what she was doing now. Running.

Reagan had followed through with lessons they had spoken about and so far she was enjoying them. It gave her something to do while he was working or sleeping and a small sense of accomplishment each time she went.

Rylee was in the kitchen fixing breakfast for herself, a small milestone that she was getting better with each and everyday.

Max came downstairs after a few minutes and he smiled softly as he watched her

"That isn't to do with the girl though, it is a reason for you to like the babe, not its mother. Are you sure there isn't anything else to your sudden like of her?"

He raised an eyebrow

She smiled.

He smiled softly kissing her forehead
