Creatures of the Dark

Alessia glanced over her shoulder at him, frowning but only briefly before her attention went back to her son. Sitting down in the grass.

After half an hour had passed, Zion became disinterested in his mother. Toddling over to Damian - unsteady on his face, arms out stretched as he clutched a gathering of daisy's.

Damian was by the water, looking over it, almost meditating from where he sat on the ground, but he turned as he heard the young boy joining him.

Zion stumbled the last few steps, falling into the back of Damian's shoulder as he dropped the flowers. Eyes instantly beginning to fill with tears.

Damian caught him and he picked up his flowers for him, holding them out to him. "Be careful little one."

Zion giggled as soon as Damian picked up the flowers, palm resting on Damian's hand to push them towards his chest. A gift.

Alessia slowly edged closer, taking off her shoes when she was near the river to dip her feet in.

Damian looked to the flowers, and despite his best attempts the flowers withered in his hand quicker than they were supposed to - one things he had noticed about himself with the lack of emotions came the ability to destroy objects ike flowers more qickly.

Zion's eyebrows furrowed, toddling away and picking more flowers. More colourful ones, and larger amounts. Returning and putting those into Damian's hand instead.

"You've confused him," Alessia observed with amusment. "Just send him to me, if you want to be left alone."

"I'm finding this entertaining, unfortunately it's not something that I can stop or control."He kept watching the boy and each time he gave im another flower is soon withered like the rest.

"That never used to happen. I always gave you bouquets, they always kept...." Alessia frowned.

Zion doubled over every time the flowers died, unable to contain his laughter.

"It's a recent thing, according to my dad when you spend so much time around the dead as I do, it's an unfortunate side effect." He watched the boy as he laughed.

"Unfortunate..." She echoed with a frown. "It's terrible."

He nodded. "At least it's only inanimate objects."

"For now," She whispered, watching as Zion settled himself down on Damian's lap. "How long until it changes? Your father never spent time with humans was that - is that the reason for it?"

"My father never spet time with humans through choice." He told her. "He learnt to ontrol it."

"Mm. Okay."

He nodded.
