The Queen Is After Me

Fleet caught her around the waist and pressed a sleepy kiss behind her ear before walking ahead of her. "Well, I suppose you have a point there."

April laughed quietly at that and caught his wrist, pulling him to her and just wrapping her arms around him in a hug. "You're soaked," She teased, "You need to stop waking up soaking wet, it's not attractive."

"And whose fault is that?" Fleet sleepily nuzzled at her hair. "Besides, haven't you hears the saying a man is more attractive even when wet?"

"Think that's true when shirtless and in swimming trunks but in yesterdays clothes and sleepy, not so much." She laughed, brushing her fingers through his hair before asking quietly, "I'm going to get something to eat, anything you want?"

"To go back to sleep," he grumbled into her hair. "But coffee sounds good too."

"I know you get less headaches the more you sleep, cause you hear less and stuff, but you can't spend all your life in bed, Fleet." April whispered, adding, "I'll be up in a second with your coffee." before pressing her lips to his cheek and leaving the room. Heading into the kitchen.

Keagan was just stood by the fridge, staring at her in bewilderment as she came in. He was covered in mud and dirt and shakily trying to pour himself a glass of water.

She froze in the doorway at seeing him, her eyes widening a little bit in shock. Though it only took her a few moments to get over this and she approached him in a quick walk, instantly going to pull him into a hug. "Keagan? Ah god Keagan, how the hell are you here?"

Keagan had offered a weak half smile at first but, as she came closer, immediately backed away, dropping the glass he was holding and barely looking at it as it shattered on the floor, his eyes locked onto her bare wrist.

April stopped when he backed away so violently and frowned deeply, following his gaze and her expression softening with realisation. "How the hell are you back though, Keag?" She asked quietly, moving to his side and rummaging through one of the draws. Pulling the bracelet back onto her wrist gently and offering him her hand.

(( Ack, can we say it still works? We can do the it not working later. Don't want it to be a drama over load ))

"I-I don't know what happened, I..." Keagan shrugged weakly and then flinched briefly as Fleet called blearily downstairs, "I heard something break. Everything okay babe?"

"Fleet, you might want to come down." April called up in response before taking a step towards Keagan and resting her hand on his shoulder. Smiling when nothing happened and just pulling him into a hug, "Your an idiot, Keag… saying you were okay when you weren't. Never do that again… Okay? Never…"

Keagan automatically stumbled back from her again until he hit the counter, absently using the back of his hand to accidentally streak mud across his face. "I woke up in the backyard, what happened?"

Fleet grumbled but could slowly be heard making his way downstairs.

She just made a small groaning noise when he backed up then, looking a little upset that he wouldn't put up with her hugging him since it had been so long. Reaching over and brushing her fingertips over his knuckles gently with a quiet murmur of apology. "You uh….   Don't you remember?   You died, Keag…. A - a year and a half ago now. Broke all our hearts, you did, you idiot. Lying about being okay and then dying. Never lie to me, okay? Never lie… was my fault too, never lie and never be sweet and go after any idiot person from my past if it means me losing you as a result, kay? You needa promise."

"A year and a half?" Keagan looked bewildered again, only focusing on that part of what she told him, eyes briefly flicking to the doorway as Fleet walked in. Fleet was in the middle of stretching and froze when he saw Keagan, arms stuck above his head.

""Mhmm, year and a half." She whispered softly, intertwining her fingers with his and squeezing his hand gently. Glancing over her shoulder when Fleet entered, musing gently, "He's bad'll Fleet… he's back."

Keagan wriggled his hand free jerkily. "No, no...just a day, I came back yesterday..."

April shook her head, "It was a year and a half sweetie. I wouldn't lie,"

"H-How so long...?" Keagan stumbled further away across the room.

She followed him gently and rested her hand on his shoulder, "Stay where you are, Keag, stop moving away." she whispered softly before replying, "I don't know how, sweetie. I don't know, but you're back now… you're here, an' you're okay - if not a little smelly."

Keagan flinched away, shaking his head uselessly in response to her words.

"Sshh, sshh," She soothed softly, reaching out to take his hand once again. "It's okay, it's okay." She assured, brushing her thumb against his knuckles.

"No, no. It's not okay. I-I'm going to go get clean..."

"Wait a second before that, okay? You can shower in a second." She whispered softly, lifting one of her hands up to rest on his cheek. "Just relax, handsome,"

Keagan shook his head violently, stepping back quickly again and bumping against the counter. "I want to get clean."
