Her breath hitched in her throat but she didn't utter a sound nor did she stop, even though she was making herself tired. "Come on, my Peter, come on."

Eventually his heart managed to start a slow and slight rhythm but the bond didn’t come back, they stayed separated by that.

She calmed down only slightly when she realized his heart was beating again but not having their was what frightened them.

His father watched the heart monitors and he smirked. “Well all that drama.” He moved to stand and he noticed a part of her shield had become weak with her attention taken by his son. “Now I have one arrangement for you to consider.” He told her as he put his own bracelet on to go back to normal. “I will leave Peter alone on the condition that the next person to carry my blood is given to us to continue the experiments.”

"Absolutely not." Denise didn't even bother to turn around as she spoke. "There's no way in hell that I would ever hand over my child to you or anyone else here."

“Then you better get used to this darling, he’s contracted to me for his life.” He told her and he managed to break through her shield.

"Why? What did he ever do to you that's so absolutely horrible that you need to run every single moment of his life?" She didn't move but she did turn around.

“He was born.” He told her simply

"You are a sorry excuse for a parent.. for anything really. You should be the one strapped down on this bed having all of these experiments done to you."

He smirked slightly. “I could have you sniffed off the face of the earth if I wanted to princess don’t forget that.”

"You've said that already. And yet you haven't. So there must be some reason you're keeping me here, hm?"

“Unfortunately you are useful to keep him in place.” His father nodded. “If I were to hold you hostage with a gun to your head he wouldn’t do anything for fear of hurting you.”

"He's already here. If he was going to rebel he would've already, don't you think?"

“Before you darling he had given up his life, you’ve unfortunately given him a reason to be defiant.”

She didn't seem very sure about that but her eyes never strayed from Peter.

Peters heart beat had slowly gotten back to normal and it was now steady, however he might not have opened his eyes yet but the closer Peters father go to Denise the more Peters heartbeat became stronger

She was watching him and listening to every sound.

As his father went to lay a hand on Denise, peters hand suddenly grabbed his, that split second seemed to be enough for not even the scientists to notice that Peter was awake, his mismatched eyes alive with a fire that threatened to burn the place down, he didn’t have the bond with Denise at the moment so he was a bit more feral and dangerous.

Denise may have been mildly startled by how quick it happened but she wasn't at all worried or afraid.

His father seemed to be having trouble getting Peters hand off him, Peers strength suddenly too much as he forced his father to submit to him

She said and did absolutely nothing at all, taking only one very small step back.

“Go on Peter, you know what you need to do.” His father goaded. “Kill me you know you want to.”

Her eyes were on Peter but something was telling her that his father was up to something and she didn't like it.

“Peter don’t.” The scientist told him. “It’s not you.”

"And why shouldn't, hm? Because you'll do everything to bring him back and then torture Peter more? He's not yours."
