"No they won't Michael."

"I'd rather not go near them and, quite frankly, it's my choice not yours."

"Alright then, can't say I didn't try." He stood up and headed to the door.

"Nobody asked you to try, so don't act so down about it."

"I know."

"I don't even understand why you did try."

"Because I am loyal to your cousins fiancee."

"Don't even care about us then. Just about her. Not surprising."

"Look Michael, you don't even know me, she is my best friend, I haven't known your family long so just shut up." Alexander left him to it.

"And I don't even want to know you."

"Fine then." Alexander walked down to the others.

Genevieve was waiting on the sofa impatiently and when she saw Alexander, she got to her feet, arms folded. "Told you that you'd upset him. You seem to forget vampires hear everything."

Jean-Claude was staring at his lap before he muttered, "Did you know the attempt on Michael's life by those wolves was planned? He wasn't supposed to survive."

"Well now he has and I hope your fucking grateful." He looked at Rose. "Come Rosalie, we must be off."

"Genevieve stop it." Coraline told her.

"I meant to start off with, when he was young. Just a boy. Eliza paid the local pack to kill him and he survived." Jean-Claude stared at his lap. "He's a frightening witch. The wolf helped him control the magic so he didn't turn insane. It's only a matter of time before he breaks, too much in one small body, now that the wolf won't be found."

"As far as I'm concerned Jean-Claude, that isn't my problem." Alexander told him. "You heard it all, so I'm not needed here."

"Brother..."Jared sighed.

"Just leave it Jared."

Jean-Claude shrugged before glancing to where Genevieve had been last. He jerked to his feet and bolted for the door when he realised she'd made her way upstairs, almost skidding into the wall when he tried to get to the stairs.

Alexander watched them go, before he and Rosalie left.

Coraline and Jared watched them go and as Coraline picked up Lloyd, Jared followed them.

Jean-Claude slipped on a slick of blood just outside the bedroom Michael had been kept in and was startled by the sound of the window shattering, trying to get the door open.

"Alow me Jean-Claude." Jared tod him as he got the door open for him.

Genevieve was sat in the corner of the room, looking dazed, a smear of blood on the wall behind her. She'd obviously hit the wall, cut her head open, and slid down like that. Her hands were shaking violently and nervously in front of chest.

Michael wasn't in the room anymore.

Jared ran inside and he healed Genevieve.

Genevieve flinched back automatically before she recognised it was Jared, muttering, "Oh..." before she twitched and coughed out a mouthful of blood.

Jean-Claude ran his fingers nervously through his hair as he approached first the window, and then walked towards his sister.

"What happened?" Jared asked her.

"Michael happened. He was scary as a child, god knows how much he's matured now he's in his twenties." Jean-Claude replied for Genevieve who was having trouble focussing, hands still shaking by her chest.

Jared sighed.
