"So what exactly is he doing? Going to scout new psychics or something?"

"Yup. That's exactly what he's gonna do."

"Why? Are the ones here dying off too quick?"

"No, its more like...well, you can't keep a telekinetic in a normal school without something happening. Same with a pyrokinetic. Sometimes going to break or burn, or someone with astral projection will have over activity and pass out in the hallway or accidentally kill another person, you know? They're safer here. Regardless of whether or not they came here, they'd die anyway."

"Well jus"Won't that just put everyone else here at risk though?"

"No, because if you remember your first day, you're thrown in that dinky little room in the back of the school, hooked up to various machines for varying times, and when you come out you're too physically and mentally drained to even think about bending a spoon or whatever it is you might do with your mind."

" I don't remember much of my first week, let alone a full day. I think I slept through most of it."

"Exactly. They bleed you dry of power until your body picks up with the freaky alpha-beta waves, whatever it does. No offence."

Drew shrugged, "None taken, I'm not that good at it all anyway."

"Probably because its one of the most awkward things to use ever."

"Ah well, maybe being bad at it will enable me to live longer anyway."

Sienna shrugged. "Never looked at it that way."

"It's one of the first things I thought of, once you mentioned I was eventually gonna die 'cause of it."

"Most kids are excited to have 'magic powers' and go in, guns blazing, on the first day."

"I wasn't," Drew shook his head, then laughed a little. "I thought it was some huge joke, that there'd be cameras here waiting to get our reaction when we were told it wasn't real."

"Unfortunately it isn't fake, isn't a joke, and it sucks about eighty percent of the time."
