<3 Married At First Sight </3

Ian busted up laughing watching her a quick glance at his watch making him groan and mumble under his breath.


((Sure.))


"It is though Ros. If he'd stayed with me he wouldn't be dead."

"No, no," She whispered, sliding her arms around him to pull him a little closer so she was holding him. "You weren't to know, if you would of known what was going to happen things'd be different but how were you suppose to know, sweetie?"

((Who first?))

Gale sighed softly, leaning down to give her a brief, chaste kiss.

Paige eventually got bored of whatever she was doing and flopped onto the bank. She curled her body in tight and then started shifting back, though this time it looked more painful, and only worked in fits and starts.

"Are you a big drinker," She asked quietly when the main ceremony was done and they wandered to where the reception was being held.

Jayson curled up beside her. "But it was, I should've kept an eye on him."


Ian wrinkled his nose flinching while watching her. "Looks painful..." He thought out loud.

Having not been able to find Ian or wait any longer Amber had left and went to her own wedding where she got herself ready and meet the young man up at the alter. She was so nervous and upset that her best friend wasn't there that she didn't even say her vows right away. When she finally had gotten through it she made her way into a corner of one of the hallways just outside the reception room and was sitting there on the floor staring at her feet.

"No," She soothed, "It wasn't, one day, somehow... I'm going to prove that to you."

He let out a deep sigh. "Can we not talk about him please..."

"I need to get to know you, sweetie, even the bad things..."

"Alright in my suitcase is a stuffed dog and some photos... If we get them I can show you who he was..."

She nodded, sliding out of the bed and grabbing the things from his suitcase. Handing them to him and sitting beside him.

"Drink and I do not mix very well," Gale murmured. "Buildings tend to be damaged."

It took Paige a handful of minutes but eventually she had shifted, still curled up to keep herself covered. There were still a ripple of scales up her spine but eventually they too evened out t flat skin.

Leonidas hovered awkwardly by Amber after seeing she was upset. "My sincerest apologies If I am not to your expectations. I understand this is a new and oft scary experience."

"I guess that's due to the same reason we had this outside." He mused quietly, "You must be able to do something pretty extraordinary."

Jayson shuffled through the photos which were basically himself and another little boy that was about three years younger then him. "That's Jared. He was like my shadow, he went with me everywhere all the time..." He pushed the last photo of a party to her where he was about eleven and the boy was eight. "This was two days before he was taken..."



He watched her with a slight fascination. "That's pretty cool. What are you though?"


Sniffling softly Amber lifted her head wiping a single tear from her cheek. "Huh? Wha- no-no it's just..." She mumbled softly shaking her head. "I...he- oh god I'm sorry I'm ruining everything..."

"I am of Marid descent." Gale inclined his head slightly. "My affinity is the wind."

"I'm a Mishipeshu." Paige scratched her neck as the gills fluttered shut. "Underwater Panther, except without looking like a panther. C-Could I borrow your jacket? Just to cover up."

"Mine apologies, if I am the problem. Though, if thou - you believe that you are causing any ado, you are wrong." Leonidas suddenly looked a little flustered. "S-Sorry, my modern English has yet to reach perfection."

Ian removed his jacket holding it out to her. "I haven't the faintest clue what that is at all but I do know Amber is going to kill me, I missed the wedding..."


"No no it's not you" She whispered softly carefully getting to her feet and brushing off the back of her dress. "It's just my best friend was supposed to be here for me and he wasn't...we were doing this together." Amber tried to explain looking up at him. "And your English is fine."

"Ah," She whispered with a mall nod in response to that, "That's cool, so you're proud and arrogant? That's the traits most commonly associated with Marid's. Or is that just a grossly unfair grouping that people put you in?"

Rosalin just nodded subtly as she looked at the photos.

Jayson picked up the stuffed animal. "This was his, we both had one actually but at the funeral I gave him mine and kept his..."

"It's Native American. Apparently I get it from my mother's side, but she ran out when I was like, eighteen months old. Then dad married Cassandra and I had Gale after that." Paige wriggled into the jacket and pulled it down as far as she could. "I'm really sorry for this. It's just Gale pissed me off so much, and I sometimes get antsy if I'm far from water for a long time. My gills show too, so it's like the faint sensation of suffocating...If you want to go back and catch up with her, I can find my own way back."

Leonidas smiled, though it was more of a wistful expression. "Has been many a year since I could boast the presence of a friend. Hester is my most recent." He held an arm forward and, as if prompted, Hester's head, smaller than a penny, popped out, his tiny tongue taste sensing the air.

"It is a stereotype often associated with our kind. Djinn are typically quite exuberant characters and playful. My emotions are more subdued from my military training."

She just gave a small nod in response to that, whispering quietly, "It's really cute,"

Geneieve nodded subtly, "Are you still in the military? When did you join?" she asked quietly, "My mother had always been in it, since before I was born. It was awful, when she got posted away and I wouldn't see her for months. On one occasion two years... On the last occasion, well- Sheesh, sorry, that's too deep. I'll shut up."

"What's it like feeling like that all the time? The feeling of suffocation and needing water?" He questioned curiously falling into step beside her as he headed back towards the reception. "Don't worry about it he was being a brother just like I get with Amber, I understand it. As for Am she'll understand, you can come along with me if you like."


"Many a year? Do you not have any family or anything anymore?" Amber asked looking up at him with a small smile her eyes shifting to the snake when it emerged. "Oh you have a snake!"



Jayson let out a sigh. "I'm bringing sadness into the day..."

"No, no. You're opening up, it's okay." She whispered gently, "It's okay, really, Jay, I want to know."

"What do you want to know?"

She just shrugged a little bit in response to that, kissing the top of his head gently.

He looked up at her. "Where do you want to live when we leave here?"

She shrugged a little bit in response to that.
