The Last Of The Fae

"What is he up to..." Kennedy whispered quietly to herself, tilting her head a little bit in the negative.

"Easy you," She laughed softly, lifting her hand up to just brush his thumb against the back of his head where it hit the trunk. "What about?"

Wyatt just sat at her feet quietly.

Anders knelt on one knee beside her on the branch watching the human. "What's going on?" He whispered near her ear.

"Just some stuff. Nothing to worry about." He shifted a little to fix his jacket collar.

Turning the page in her book she smiled spotting him at her feet placing the book aside to ruffle his hair. "Hey there, where's your shadow?" She joked playfully looking around for Rowan.

"At the river," Wyatt replied with a shrug, leaning back against her legs and closing his eyes quietly. "Wanna talk 'bout your neighbour; the bad man. I keep seeing him around, he looks at me funny."

"Tell me," Vivian whispered gently, "You can tell me, Nik,"

Kennedy lifted her finger to point at Noah as he got to his feet and wandered down the river.

Faylee ran her fingers through his hair gently. "You mean Noah? He knows what you two are...he came to talk to me a few weeks ago. He said he's not here to hurt you or anything just to study the folklore."

"You been watching him?" He asked quietly tilting his head at Noah.

He laughed quietly. "There's nothing to tell."

"He's human, of course I have." Kennedy whispered quietly in response to that, leaning into him automatically due to his heat. "You're really got you know," she hummed, though blushed bright red when she realised how he could of translated that.

"It didn't look like nothing,"

"He's been watching us!"

"Watching you? Like he's interested in what you are or?" She asked shifting slightly in her seat.

Anders smirked at her. "This I know."

Rowen gave off a soft giggle as the fish swam around her feet.

"It's not."

"Like.... Like he's planning something." Wyatt whispered quietly in response to that.

Kennedy just lowered her gaze, laughing embarrassedly. "You know what I meant,"

Noah cleared his throat softly, sitting himself down beside Rowan.

"Tell me then..."

"Have you seen him today?" She asked quietly patting the spot on the swing beside her.

"Maybe, maybe not or maybe you meant it both ways." He chuckled winking at her playfully.

Rowan screamed scampering backwards so fast she fell over staring up at him side eyed.

"Why?"

Kennedy offered him a grin though her head jerked up at the scream, leaning forward to watch as her eyes narrowed.

Noah chuckled gently and offered her a hand up, "I'm not here to hurt you, don't worry, I'm not here to do any harm." he soothed gently.

"Because I'm here for you, because we're friends." Vivian whispered.

Wyatt shook his head in the negative, to both the offer and the question.

She shook her head rapidly messing her hair and making it fall in her face. "No, no...go away away. Bad, please go away..." She stammered slowly close to tears already.

Anders moved in front of her slightly kinda as if he were protecting her as he looked to Rowan. "Where's the other one?"

"It's not something I can just tell you."

Faylee frowned.

"I have no idea," Kennedy replied with a small shrug, sighing deeply as she watched Rowen and muttering, "Fucking elf, don't plead with the human."

"I'm not going to harm you, here, take my hand, get up." Noah soothed gently.

"Yes you can," Vivian whispered, "Come on, I won't judge you, not at all. Tell me...."

"You need to make him go away."

Anders sighed deeply lowering himself to somewhat lay across the branch.

She shook her head.

"Shall I go see if I can find him now?"

"Being judged I could careless about."

Wyatt nodded a little bit in response to that.

"What's putting you off telling me then? I won't react badly, I promise." She whispered softly:

"Oh, come on, I'm not that scary." Noah mumbled, letting out a deep sigh and glancing around quietly. "I just want to get to know you."

Kennedy glanced over her shoulder to watch him.

"Alright then. Would you like to come with me?" She asked getting to her feet.

"That isn't at all what keeps me from saying anything." Nik shifted a little tucking his hands into the pockets of his jacket.

"Why?" She whispered softly keeping her eyes fixed on him.


Anders glanced at her then back towards the ground.

"What's keeping you then?" Vivian asked with a small sigh. "I don't understand I…. Why is it hard just to be truthful with someone?"

Wyatt hesitated before nodding and getting to his feet.

"I'm just interested."

Kennedy laughed a little bit, "What?"

"Why?" She asked again quietly still sounding like a small child.

"Nothing."

Faylee headed for Noah's house walking to the door and knocking.

"Fine. How about we go somewhere else first?"

"Mm, you lead the way," Vivian whispered.

"Just somewhere inside..." He muttered getting to his feet.

She just motioned for him to lead the way, sighing softly.

Nikolas headed towards her place figuring it'd be easiest there. "Did you always live in this town?" He asked randomly after a few moments of silence.

"Yeah, yeah... Born and raised here."

"Then you know all about the folklore?" He asked quietly stopping in front of the door to her home waiting for her to open it for them.

"It's not folklore if it's true," She replied with a shrug. "I know all about the truth? Yes I do…" Vivian whispered as she opened the door and went in.

Nikolas nodded his head as he stepped inside shutting the door behind them for her. "Do you know I'm part of it then?"

"I had my suspicions," She whispered quietly as she sat herself down on the sofa.
