"She has given Karsi and I the house. We are going to use it to start a business - closer to a charity." Louis whispered. "The Rose House. She'll have her own legacy that way."

Marlowe frowned, lifting her hand up to rest on Maddox's shoulder.

"Getting back on the track; that is going to help you get the skip back in your step."

“To help kids like Tesni. More of a... a boarding house. A charity, like Louis said. There’s over a dozen rooms here. That’s over a dozen kids we can take off the streets. Mom suggested paying for their education and then supporting them as they grow up.” Karsi wrapped her arms around Louis’ as she leaned her head into him.

“Mom had to fend for herself from around her age. Makes sense...” Maddox nodded. “Fitting.”

“She was good to me when she didn’t need to be. Who wants to take on someone else’s five kids? She could’ve been the wicked stepmother...”
