Creatures of the Dark

She entwined their fingers before she walked to the kitchen with him

He followed.

She already had the ingredients out on the counter. “Don’t forget you promised Bael he could make the nachos with you.”

"I know, and he will,"

She kissed his cheek before she made a start on dinner

Zion pulled his phone from his pocket, putting on his playlist and placing it on the window sill as he got to work with helping her.

She smiled as she heard one of the songs

Zion hummed along to the song contently, mouthing the words under his breath as he chopped the ingredients.

She stopped to listen to him and she watched him with a soft smile. “You know I love your voice.”

"I sound like a cat that is being strangled." He chuckled, hitting his hip against hers to try and deflect the way his cheeks heated.

She looked to him. “You sound amazing.”

Zion wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her in to press his lips to hers.

She kissed him back looping her arms around him as she did

"We need to be cooking, not doing this like love sick teenagers." He chuckled against her lips, peeling himself away from her. "If we're to foster, do you have preferences? Boy, girl? Age group?"

She raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong with that? I am only twenty six.” She told him with a playful laugh. “But okay in regards to adoption, gender I don’t mind, but age is either think a young child slash baby age or a teenager, I always feel bad that teenagers aren’t the most sought out for adoption.”

"Bael's age or older," He agreed quietly.

She nodded. “Okay, gender?”

"I don't mind," He hummed. "We'll do research later on, get in contact with some companies. Send emails."

She nodded. “Sounds good.” She looked to her phone as it started ringing. “Ah, must have known we were going to call.” She showed him that it was her mum calling

"Must have, you want me to take it? I'll tell her your in the bath."

“No it’s okay, she should be in a good mood.” She told him as she answered. “Hello?”

“Do you know how many times I’ve tried to call you?” Her mother voice sounded down the fine. “Anyway, where is Aeron, I have something to ask him?”

Zion snorted his amusment gently,  reaching across the counter to grab a lime from the basket. Chopping it in half and squeezing the juices into the quesedlia mix. "There is no need for speaker with how loud she is, is there?"

“I heard that young man!” She shouted to him. “Anyway, I was wondering if you would join my daughter home for the weekend and maybe invite that Aunt you were telling me about? The midwife one?”

"Aunt Belle? Oh, oh no I haven't spoken to her in years." He dismissed as non-chalantly as he could muster. "I will come though, of course. Bael is staying at a friend's house, so it'll just be the two of us."

“Oh I hope you reconsider she sounds like a gem.” She told him. “At least think about it.” She suggsted. “Anyway I have to go it’s salsa night. Goodbye daughter good bye Aeron darling.” When the line went dead Sabrina looked to him. “Aeron are you okay?”
