"Jean?" a young woman was hovering in the doorway that led to the house, wearing long gloves, and a long necked gown, looking like she should be far too hot in the current weather. She seemed to be in her late teens, perhaps early twenties.

"I'm okay, Amaryllis. I am simply lost in thought."

"They have a life outside of living at home," Jean-Claude replied softly.

Eventully Jean-Claue would have felt something slam into his legs and secure a tight grip around his waist, and if he looked down he would have seen Lloyd.

Jean-Claude flinched briefly, surprised as he was caught unaware, and smiled down brightly, reaching to scoop Lloyd up. "Hey there, buddy!"

"Coralline had to work late so I said that I'd drop him off to see his dad." Damion told him as he leant against the fence.

"Thanks." Jean-Claude smiled briefly. "Did you have a good day at school Lloyd?" Briefly, Jean-Claude glanced over his shoulder at Amaryllis, who was leaning forward to peer at Lloyd curiously, keeping herself on the far side of the porch.

Amaryllis flinched at Jean-Claude's words and moved to sit on the porch swing, at the far end.
