"Mm..." Karl hummed with a grimace, "Wow."

"You were fine... done your best." Sarai whispered, "Has mama spoken to you yet? Told you about the nasty thing?"

Peter was sat just outside his home, laying on his back on the grass contently as he enjoyed the good weather. Humming over to his friend, "So, I still haven't gotten around to destroying the knife and Markos is back now and looking for it - so, I was thinking, should I destroy it or should I just hand it to him? I'd rather not get caught up in the Markos crap to be honest, but....."

"Mhm, he does." Astrid confirmed quietly, letting out a small sigh a moment later and whispering, "This will complicate things loads, won't it?"

Sarai just nodded in response to that, "Yourself too? Please?"

"He doesn't love you as friend then." Karl mumbled. "If he did he wouldn't mind talking to you in front of me.."

"He wants it to destroy it." His friend pointed out with a small shrug. "You should do the same." He pointed out.

"No. No it won't. I won't let it."

"That's his problem because I love you."

"I'm planning to destroy it, but why should I destroy it when he'll come knocking asking where it is? What if he gets pissed that I was the one to destroy it? Like I said I don't want to get cau-" He cut off with a wince then as Klaus suddenly dragged him up by his hair, within second pinning him against a wall.

"You need to do a little favour for me." Klaus hissed.

"I always do favours for you, you don't have to be so fucking violent." Peter snapped.

"Mm," Astrid hummed with a small frown, "You want me to drop you off at yours home... or?"

Karl just gave a small nod in response to that.

"To prove how much I love you I'm giving you your birthday gift early." Eri whispered as she went to her coat and pulled a set of keys out, handing them over to him.

"I don't have a home. I have a room in a small hotel. Crappiest room so I didn't feel as bad for compelling it as I am out of cash."

Karl raised his eyebrows as he took the keys off of her, "What is it?"

Astrid frowned at that, grabbing her purse and pulling out some money. Handing it to him and whispering, "Here, get yourself a decent room. I'd offer you our spare but our dad is hogging that at the moment."

"Sarai's dead, so is Tatia." Klaus hissed bluntly, "The Other Side is collapsing for god knows what reason, I need them back, Peter. Now." A moment later he moved his gaze to the other Traveller, adding, "It'll be quicker if two of you do it, right? Your helping too."

"Get off me and I might talk to you." Peter muttered, struggling to get away from Klaus and flinching when he twisted his arm. "Fuck. Really, get off."

He began to chant to disable Klaus.

"Our new apartment...."

"No. I can't accept it, I'm thankful but I don't want you to think that I'm only talking to you for money."

Klaus winced violently and let Peter go then, stumbling slightly but manage to stay on his fit. Glaring at them before glancing around for something he could use to stop them.

Peter continued until Klaus had fallen on his knees and the went quiet, whispering to his friend, "I found an old chant ages ago - Markos' old ones that enabled people to pass through the anchor without collapsing the Other Side which I've been using to help them bring people back. You need all doppelgänger blood for it, your good at the scientific side, would the blood still work if the doppelgänger is dead? I have some spare…"

Karl smiled brightly at that.

"I don't think that and I won't constantly do it... Just take the money."

"I'm ready to try and settle down again Karl. You make me feel safe and I'm going to have to learn to trust my instincts that you'll keep me safe."

"Thanks Astrid." Ivar whispered as he took the money. "I owe you."

"Hybrid protection... Could be useful. So could his blood for spells."

Astrid just shrugged in response to that, "You don't, really, don't worry about it."

"Mm, I suppose." Peter whispered before asking quietly, "You going to help me? It hurts on my own, I end up practically bedridden for days afterwards so help'd be appreciated."

Karl just smiled at that, pressing his lips to hers.

"I do... For accepting me so easily and taking me on. I needed family and you're willing to be mine. Thank you."
