Creatures of the Dark

Rylee very gently ran a finger over one of them not wanting to harm anything because she didn't know much about it. "Oh, so very soft like cotton."

Lily giggled the touch obviously being ticklish.

This made her smile and she patted her lap to hold her, this being something she never really had the chance to do before now.

Lily happily snuggled onto her lap.

Rylee wrapped her arms around the small girl, hugging her carefully to her chest.

Max smiled as he watched

Aled shook his head, leaning back in his seat as he raked his fingers through his hair. Closing his eyes to take slow, controlled breathes to calm himself down, "I'm - I'm fine. I'm fine."

"How will I know it isn't poisoned?"

"The one we had down last time? You think he cares enough - not too power hungry to throw her under the bus?"

"Find a way for your mother to come here to see us, and she can but I don't want our baby down there where your dad can take her from us."

He nodded. “I agree,” he assured her. “Alright I’ll work on it,” he looked to his daughter. “Right come on beautiful let’s leave mummy to relax and I’ll go and finish that story.”

“Do you want me to eat one first?”

“Yeah that one and I’m not sure it’s worth a try.”

Rylee smile at him, gently rocking from side to side with Lily in her arms.

"You're not and it's okay not to be, you know. It's okay to be upset." She told him, rising to her feet. "Why don't I make you some tea.. tea is good, right?"

Max smiled softly as he watched

Rylee wasn't really sure of what she was doing but Lily wasn't complaining or running away so she assumed that was a good thing.

Lily was happily snuggled against her. “You’re really pretty Ryee.”

Max smiled softly. “Yes she is.”

"Have fun."

"You made them, you'd have probably planted one non-poison one to lull me into a false sense of security." He hummed light-heartedly.

"I suppose. Sure."

"Herbal - green peppermint?" Aled requested in a whisper.

“Would I really do that to you?” She asked him sweetly. “I mean you are my friend and if I don’t have you then I’d be alone.” She told him with a pout. “And you’d hurt my feelings if you don’t eat one of my brownies.”

He smiled softly. “You too.”

“How to get her here though.” She mused and she wandered around the area Hopi bf to get an idea

"I am sure I'm not your only friend." He scoffed.

Caspian shrugged.

Belle looked at him with a slight blush it was pretty much true he was her only friend at this time, she was still you so most of her friends had grown apart.

Eris groaned in frustration. “Why is nothing ever easy.”

Elliot was quiet then, closing his eyes against the sun

Belle went quiet. “Remind me to not offer you a brownie again.” She told him after she wrapped it up in a napkin and put it on his chest before she rolled back onto her back watching the leaves above them. “I’ve been asked on a date tonight.”

She sighed moving to sit on a fallen tree

"You have? Oh, exciting." Elliot hummed, pushing himself up to take a hold of the brownie. "What's his name? Where does he live? Where are you going and when?"

“His name is David he works at the bookstore I go to, apparently he’s been wanting to ask me out for ages but I don’t know,” she told him as she looked at him. “He lives in the cul de sac next to mine, he’s made reservations at that new diner in town for six o’clock…why so many questions?”

"I need to know who I am tracking down if you don't get home," Elliot hummed with a warm grin

She laughed. “Oh yeah sure, no offence Elliot but I can’t see you being all Mr Protective.” She told him with a playful smile. “Not when the person you’d be looking for is your ‘poisoner’.”

"You can't see me being protective?" He pushed himself to sitting up as he reached a hand out for the brownie, adding with faux offence, "How dare you imply I am a coward."

Rylee blushed a light pink. "Thank you, Lily.. you're very pretty too."

Reagan nodded. "Sure. I can do that." Tea was easy. She couldn't ruin tea.
